Olympia
Area Advanced Practice Association |
|
This group has evolved
over the past few years and now numbers over 120 members. We
meet every other month or so during the calendar year, for
networking with each other and education about a wide variety of
topics. The Association is open to anyone practicing in an
advance role, usually a nurse practitioner or physician's
assistant, who live in the
Olympia
area. In general, this includes Thurston, Lewis, Mason and parts
of
Pierce
County.
We also have some students in our midst. |
| Our programs range from presentation
by our own local nurse practitioners, pharmaceutical
representatives and special forums and events of interest. We
are always seeking new topics, and individuals to present
something from their specialty. Our members have a lot of
latitude to develop the programs they would like. We’ve had some
great programs over the years. Hosting a program is not a
difficult task. If you wish to host a program, please contact
me, and I will provide you with guidance in planning a meeting
and a mailing list. We try to plan diverse programs, and your
ideas are always welcome, and also maintain a database of
previous programs and sponsors |

serving on our Board, please one of our board members.
These folks are the backbone of this organization, and help
coordinate our programs and activities. |

As postage and mailing costs are becoming
prohibitive, we have chosen to limit our mailings to a few times
a year. Currently they are $20, and include a copy of a
directory, and the flyers that we mail out to folks. We
will also maintain a database and web site, where a
calendar of events
will be kept current. |

| Our web site was born in 2001, and we
have quite an extensive an email list. We feel limiting
our mailing list to paid membership will decreased our overall
costs significantly. If you wish to be taken off of our mailing
list, or have changes to make, please contact me. |
| If you would like to be on our
mailing list, please print, fill out, and mail in a membership
form to the address listed on the form.
